January Total Home & Gift Market Attendance Surges Ahead

Dallas Market Center saw great momentum with more buyers and more orders at its first show of the year.

Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace, announced that its recent Total Home & Gift Market showed a strong increase in attendance as buyers sought a higher volume of merchandise to fill depleted inventories. The Market (January 13–19) offered more than 25,000 lines of gift products, decorative accessories, lighting, floral, gourmet, furniture, toys and seasonal items. Attendance included buyers from all 50 states and 53 countries.

“January Market showed great momentum and energy to start the year,” says Bill Winsor, president and CEO, Dallas Market Center. “A strong increase in attendance, more buyers per store attending market, and more products across more categories created an overall successful market for both buyers and sellers.”

January Market featured several showroom openings including: Debbie Smith, Elle Home & Lifestyle, iWish, Melrose International and Steinworld. Some showroom expansions included: Diverse Marketing, Elegant Lighting, K&K Interiors, Midwest/CBK and Young Associates. Nora Lighting celebrated its 20th anniversary while Round Top Collection celebrated its 25th anniversary.

In addition to new resources in permanent showrooms across the 5-million-square-foot campus, the FINDS Dallas Temp Show expanded even further. More new categories and products were added as the temp show grew to almost 500,000 square feet showcasing leading products in the following categories: Christmas & Floral, Gift, Kids, Hill Country, Red Haute, Fashion, Design, Home, Furniture and Cash & Carry. New categories joining FINDS this January were: Bath & Body, Garden & Outdoor, Outdoor Furniture, Paper & Party, and Souvenir.

Also, the Total Home & Gift Market offered dozens of educational opportunities for buyers including: “Home Trends and Design Style,” presented by Susanna Salk; “Holiday Inspirations: A New European Perspective” by Rene van Rems AIFD; “Lunch and Learn with HGTV’s Joe Ruggiero,” presented by Joe Ruggiero; “Clodagh presents Inner Video – How Travels Have Influenced Her Design Process,” presented by Clodagh; and “COLORPULSE 2011,” presented by Fran Mooney, Color Design Specialist of Benjamin Moore Company.
